A Snapshot
As a Services & Commissioning Manager, reporting to the Regional Commissioning Manager you will work closely with the rest of the Technology team, making your mark in a number of ways:
- Manage end to end commissioning on various projects in Malaysia, lead them through to successful completion and handover to the operations team and customer
- Collaborate with the APAC AirTrunk development and design team to drive the safety and quality standards to meet AirTrunk requirements
Your Day to Day
- Liaise with AirTrunk appointed independent commissioning managers, general contractor, subcontractors, vendors, AirTrunk operations and engineering consultants to plan and complete commissioning on time and approved budget
- Develop budget estimates for commissioning related consultants, equipment and software systems
- Review design electrical, mechanical, controls and security designs for commisionability and compliance with AirTrunk and local code requirements
- Liaise with internal and external partners to provide structured reporting on commissioning status and progress
- Ensure that commissioning activities are documented on approved database systems, hiring and engaging with sub-consultants to achieve this goal
- Travel to factories throughout the world to witness, organize and supervise commissioning activities with long lead equipment vendors
- Review and provide direction to CxA's, vendors and contractors with respect to Cx script completeness, validity and purpose
- Provide feedback to engineers and designers on technical aspects of design with a focus on time and cost required to commission successfully
- Act as the decision maker on behalf of AirTrunk to coordinate and resolve technical issues during commissioning
- Analyse, review and introduce commissioning processes and policies to reduce cost and time of the Cx process whilst still maintaining the standard required by clients and operations staff
- Report back to management on the status of commissioning activities
- Attend commissioning, construction and design meetings on an as needed basis
- Empower, encourage, communicate, educate and train all members of the commissioning team
- Interface directly with client Cx Managers to ensure their satisfaction, confidence and trust in the technical aspects of the AirTrunk product
- Promptly respond to requests from clients, specifically the client Cx manager, for technical information regarding the AirTrunk product. Provide incident reports, root cause analysis and explanatory narratives in response to these questions.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with AirTrunk operations
- Ensure submission of MOPs and SWMS on a timely basis to facilitate the Cx schedule
- Establish and coordinate the Cx schedule with GC, vendors, contractors and CxA to ensure completion prior to RFS date
- Become involved with and contribute to technical initiatives and projects conducted by AirTrunk including:
- DCS design and trouble shooting
- Equipment design and commissioning
- Construction processes and policy
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience acting as a Commissioning Manager Lead in general contractor or commissioning agent role leading the successful handover of complex data centre projects
- Bachelor's degree in building services, electrical or mechanical engineering
- Good understanding of multi-disciplinary building services design, construction, and commissioning processes
- Experience liaising with data centre MEP suppliers, contractors, and commissioning agents within the APAC market
- Incredibly flexible, energetic and adaptable to a dynamic fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ability to work autonomously, willing to make decisions and be accountable for them
- Excel at communication; you can deliver effective presentations on data centre design and commissioning strategies to customers, peers and management
- Leadership skills to lead multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies
- Willing to travel to other APAC regions
- High level digital literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project
