The Shelter Executive supports the Deputy Director (Shelter) and Shelter Manager in managing daily shelter activities, providing administrative support and improves existing administrative processes. The Shelter Executive also supports SPCAs outreach efforts by working closely with potential adopters, community feeders by developing public training programmes.
In the event of limited resources, the Shelter Executive may from time to time be required to step in to perform the duties of any staff he or she oversees.
The responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Assisting the Deputy Director (Shelter) in rostering of shelter staff
- Ensuring the smooth flow and transfer of animals between various departments for medical checks and clinical procedures.
- Updating and maintaining animals administrative records including treatment plans, adoption appointments and treatment schedules.
- Leading the digital transformation and automation of shelters processes by developing a collaborative process involving staff, vendors, and volunteers.
- Working closely with Deputy Director (Shelter) and Shelter Manager to improve and automate current manual and administrative processes.
- Developing new strategies to increase animal adoption rates.
- Working closely with Animal Care Officers/Executives to improve current adoption processes.
- Updating and maintain adoption and fostering records including the administration of Project ADORE.
- Working closely with the Volunteer Manager to develop new strategies to improve fostering rates.
- Developing strong networks with community feeders and fosterers.
- Building public awareness and training programmes for community outreach.
- Providing support for ad-hoc events and SPCA-led projects.
- Qualifications and Requirements
· Education: Minimum of diploma, fluent in English
· Passionate about animal welfare
· Strong and dynamic leader with exceptional interpersonal skills
· Meticulous and detail-oriented
· Experience managing administrative work is an advantage but not necessary.
· Experience working with animals is an advantage but not necessary.
