Job Description: Site Supervisor
Position Summary:
A Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing construction projects and ensuring they are executed according to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards. They manage daily operations on the construction site, supervise workers, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure efficient progress. They are the key point of contact between the construction team and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision:Oversee daily site operations, ensuring construction work is done according to the approved design and timelines.
Manage site workers and subcontractors, ensuring they follow project specifications and safety protocols.
Monitor the quality of work and ensure that it meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Safety Management:Ensure the site complies with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct daily safety briefings and inspections to identify and resolve potential hazards.
Ensure workers use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures.
- Materials and Equipment Management:Ensure materials and tools are available for the workforce.
Oversee the inventory of materials, managing ordering, delivery, and proper storage.
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Schedule and Budget Management:Assist in maintaining the project schedule, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
Monitor progress to ensure the project stays on budget and report any discrepancies or delays to the project manager.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Quality Control:Conduct regular inspections of the site to ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards.
Record any issues or defects and ensure they are resolved promptly.
- Team Coordination:Manage and motivate the team of construction workers and contractors.
Facilitate communication between workers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including labor, materials, and any delays or issues.
Provide regular progress reports to project managers or stakeholders.
Keep records of site meetings, safety inspections, and incidents.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in construction site supervision or a similar role.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage a diverse team of workers and subcontractors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
