Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to manage a large, diverse team of over 15 application developers, analysts, and support staff. This role will oversee the development and maintenance of both in-house and outsourced applications, ensuring they meet enterprise standards and align with business objectives. Proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese is essential for effective communication with regional teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth operation and development of our application portfolio, both in-house and outsourced, in alignment with enterprise standards.
- Manage the full life cycle of application development, from project inception to maintenance, ensuring quality, security, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables, ensuring they meet business objectives.
- Drive continuous process improvement, focusing on automation, simplification, and performance management.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on the status and performance of applications.
Requirements:
- Team Leadership: Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of 15+. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a large, diverse team.
- Application Strategy & Development: Extensive experience in designing and implementing application development strategies. Expertise in managing the full development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. Strong resource management and prioritization skills.
- Performance Optimization: Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage application performance, ensuring availability, security, and reliability. Strong problem-solving skills to quickly address technical issues.
- Process Improvement: Experience driving process improvements, including automation, simplification, and optimization initiatives for application performance and capacity planning.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Relations: Experience managing external vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and issue resolution. Strong collaboration skills to work with internal stakeholders and business units.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin/Chinese is required to communicate effectively with regional teams and external stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in application development tools and frameworks, particularly C# and SQL. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC best practices.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the financial industry
- ITIL certification is a plus.
