Description
Digital Natives Solutions Architects work closely with technical co-founders, engineers and
developers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They are at the crossroads of business
and technology and engage with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption. Solutions
Architects also take a leading role in creating and presenting technical content and best
practices.
In this role you will work directly with some of our largest Digital Native customers to enable
innovation through continuous improvement, software development and deployment best
practices, and help these businesses stay on top of the latest technology trends in software and
solutions architecture in the cloud. You'll be excited to practice your creativity; linking
technology to tangible solutions and educating Digital Natives about the art of the possible.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon Web Services with some of our most important customers- recommending best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
- Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical business problems and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Scope and own each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, other technical teams at AWS (e.g. Technical Account Managers, AWS Professional Services consultants, managed services partners), service engineering teams and support
- Demonstrate an ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Act as a thought leader in the wider community (both internal and external to AWS), playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
A day in the life
Our solutions architects are experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth coupled with strong interpersonal skills. The variety of customers is huge as we work across multiple industries within the Cross Industry segment. On a daily basis you will work alongside people who are leading the way in designing cloud bases architecture.
As a Solutions Architect you'll own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, operational efficiency, and sustainability. To do this you will collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++
- Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals, security, storage or databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, or Windows)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution
- Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps
