Job Overview

Disney Entertainment (DE) brings together the Disney's best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DE is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DE also manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.

Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. Disney+ is available on most internet-connected devices and offers commercial-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series and short-form content. Alongside unprecedented access to Disney's incredible library of film and television entertainment, the service is also the exclusive streaming home for the latest releases from The Walt Disney Studios.

The Executive, Programming and Content Curation will be responsible for aiding in content planning for merchandising and curation across for Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar services. The role is vital in terms of providing support and recommendation to ensure subscribers are engaged via a calendar of editorial initiatives that support content discovery and time spent viewing, critical to supporting broader business KPIs of subscriber retention and customer lifetime value. The role will become one of the experts/super-users in the use of Disney+ planning tools.

This role is based in Singapore and will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of operational content workflows locally and manage Content Management System related processes (metadata, layout, page editorial, thematic collections) with a focus to drive efficiency and timely execution of content plans.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with market leads to strategies and plan content availability to optimise TWDC brands and franchises.
  • Collaborate with local and international teams to align on regional and global content forecast and actualization plans.
  • Proactively engage with relevant stakeholders within the region as well as global, making sure the necessary resources are in place for swift and timely content drops.
  • Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams to anticipate, identify, and fix issues that would delay content drops.
  • Partner with regional as well as global operational teams to ensure swift and timely content drops.
  • Curate, build, publish, and manage Disney+ content programming in the CMS and other tools with accuracy and efficiency to maximize audience engagement and retention.
  • Ability to analyse data and use insights to better represent curation plans.
  • Facilitate clear and efficient verbal and written communications between teams, and to the larger organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experiences
  • Experience in slate planning, content strategy, and project management, ideally in digital media and entertainment, with SVOD experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of The Walt Disney Company content, brands, franchises, and characters that define the brand, and expertise to build further audience engagement.
  • Keen interest in content regional and global.
  • Strong understanding of digital media platforms, including hands-on management of web, app, streaming, and connected devices.
  • Familiar with local content guidelines and practices
  • Strong collaborator with experience working with local, regional, and global teams.
  • Diligent with ability to adapt quickly to new technology and constantly evolving organization, and to thrive in an extremely fast-paced and high-pressure working environment.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of other regional languages would be nice but not essential.
