About the Role
BHPs Marketing activities are undertaken through a centralized marketing organization with a network of offices across the world supporting our major customer markets and the distribution of product from our operations. Majority of the marketing staff are located in Asia, with Singapore being the primary hub office.
We are presently seeking a Specialist Scheduler to join the Iron Ore Sales team. Reporting to the Manager Sales, you will be responsible for optimal management of product allocation, shipping and scheduling activities for close to 1500 vessels per year supporting 287Mt of production (FY24 performance) to our customers globally.
As the Specialist Scheduling, you will be accountable for:
A commitment to health, safety and sustainability.
Optimise logistics plans and schedules for outbound shipments, continually building on learnings to optimize throughout, value and minimize risk.
Understand the supply chain and identify bottlenecks, value drivers and anticipate risks to optimize the plan.
Collaborate with our Operations and Planning teams to ensure that the logistics capacities are aligned with the logistics Forecast & Schedule.
Build strong relationships and effectively engage with multiple, culturally diverse stakeholders.
Remain informed on supply chain market intelligence.
Understand commercial levers and customer preferences to identify potential commercial value loss/gain.
Exercise judgement, propose practical solutions to problems and make sound decisions, in an ambiguous and increasingly complex environment.
Collaborate and/or initiate interactions with other internal stakeholders to identify best practices or new opportunities.
Coordinate actions in a timely manner and demonstrate strong communication skills.
About You
To be successful in this role you will require a degree in logistics/business/commerce or equivalent with demonstrated experience working in the logistics or resources sectors; ideally having international or commercial experience.
Candidates must have an ability to work in a multicultural environment, have good interpersonal skills and be fluent in English, both verbal and written. Computer literate and SAP experience will be highly preferred.
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player, with a strong focus on effectively engaging and managing key stakeholders. Be a problem solver leveraging both analytical skills and commercial judgement. Has a can-do attitude and a growth mindset to seek continuous improvement.
