You will be working closely with the IDRTO researchers and committees on various internal and collaborative projects related to infectious diseases, with emphasis on whole-genome sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria. The key roles include analyzing data, development of bioinformatics tools pipelines, and manuscript preparation for submission to peer-review publications.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools and pipelines related to next-generation sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria and other related analyses
Perform sequence and data analysis related to next-generation sequencing of Gram-negative bacteria
Reporting key results of data analysis
Manuscript preparation for submission to peer reviewed journals by thorough literature review, Preliminary data analysis, and manuscript drafting
Any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator / Supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS
At least a Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computational biology or Biological Sciences
Experienced in bioinformatics analysis of whole genome sequencing data for at least 4 years
Familiar with file management and data analysis in the Unix/Linux environment
Proficient in programming and scripting languages required for bioinformatics data analysis
Prior experience in publication of research findings would be an advantage
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
