Job Summary
The Senior Manager/Manager, Development for Digital Apps Office is responsible for leading the development and enhancement of the NHG Cares App (NCA), designed to meet the needs of NHG Patients, Caregivers, and Residents. This role involves managing multi-vendor development scrum teams located onsite and offshore, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring that the NCA meets the highest standards of quality, security, and user experience. Acting as the Scrum Product Owner, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile application development, a strong understanding of healthcare technology, and exceptional leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Translate and communicate the product vision to the Agile development team using the Scrum framework.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze needs, develop solutions, create specifications, and prioritize development and backlog.
Work closely with the Scrum Master to ensure high velocity, improving efficiency and quality, and increasing team productivity and effectiveness.
Oversee development and teams to ensure requirements are implemented effectively within established timelines and meet user needs.
Responsible for budget oversight and payments.
Act as a bridge between stakeholders and backend system teams to mitigate roadblocks and achieve sprint/release goals.
Resolve escalated issues arising from operations that require coordination with others.
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Manage relationships with external vendors, including evaluating and selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service standards.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in system development, with at least 4 years in mobile apps and 3 years in a managerial role.
Preferably experience in a Product Owner role or as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
Experience working in a team environment implementing large-scale IT projects with in-depth knowledge of Agile methodology.
Experience in the healthcare industry, technologies, or mobile apps is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills with an understanding of business value related to features and functions.
Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Capable of working effectively under tight deadlines and managing tasks independently.
Ability to distil complex technical plans into easily understandable concepts for executive reports.
