Job Description

Family Group: Administration

Epidemiology and health program evaluation and outcomes research will play increasingly important roles in Singapore, given the evolving healthcare needs of the population brought about by a changing demographic landscape.

The job holder will assume an active role in:


Helping identify stakeholders needs and clarifying the research/evaluation question, with a view to align priorities with the vision, mission and goals of NHG and MOH.
Participate in designing rigorous research/evaluation methodologies for complex and specialized health services research (HSR) studies.
Planning and overseeing data collection to support health programme evaluation/HSR for decision makers and other stakeholders; analyzing and sharing of results, findings and their implications, identifying strengths as well as areas for improvement to guide future health programmes and services.
Promoting interest and disseminating new, useful knowledge in the field of public health as well as health programme evaluation and outcomes research to the wider healthcare community nationally and internationally.
Expanding the stakeholder base for health programme evaluation and strengthening partnerships with existing collaborators.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Training/Experience
Degree in health science.
Masters or PhD in public health, epidemiology, health technology assessment, clinical investigation or related disciplines.
Expert knowledge in epidemiological methods, demography, study designs, biostatistics and integrative methods including systematic reviews, health technology assessment and meta-analysis.
Skilled in various data collection methods, data management, processing and advanced statistical analysis using statistical software.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in healthcare.
Knowledge of the healthcare system with a good understanding of the local needs and challenges.

Excellent communicator. Is able to speak the language of the stakeholder and establish good rapport early in the project. When giving presentations, keeps the audience engaged throughout, and effectively conveys the key message.

Provides regular updates and keeps communication lines open throughout the life cycle of the project. Good negotiation skills and works within realistic and reasonable expectations.
Lifelong learner. Keeps abreast with the state-of-the-art and is keen to broaden knowledge and acquire new skills from related disciplines in health services research.
Innovative and flexible. Able to adapt to challenges and complexities by developing innovative solutions.
Focus on quality. Possesses a sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability for the project, thus ensuring delivery of value-added output.
