Responsibilities
- Dynamic Prioritization: Effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing issues in a dynamic environment with a self-organizing approach.
- Application Support & Deployment: Provide application support, execute deployments, and manage production releases, specifically within a banking environment.
- System Upgrades: Regularly apply security patches and execute system upgrades to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal SRE, Dev, and business teams, along with key banking stakeholders, to investigate, test, and deploy solutions.
- CI/CD Implementation: Contribute to building automated CI/CD pipelines and capabilities tailored to meet banking industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all production changes adhere to life-cycle methodology, bank compliance, and risk management protocols.
- Application Troubleshooting: Support Java (J2EE/Spring Boot) applications, analyze logs, and manage application flow across complex upstream and downstream interactions specific to banking operations.
- Incident Management: Handle incidents, support recovery, and drive root cause analysis, with an emphasis on banking applications and financial data integrity.
- Performance Optimization: Apply tuning and troubleshooting expertise to support high-performing applications with strong networking fundamentals relevant to banking operations.
- On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations to provide continuous support for critical banking applications.
- Observability: Enhance application availability by implementing observability solutions suitable for high-stakes banking environments.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 + years of relevant experience, including substantial experience in the banking or financial services sector.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent skills for working across functional teams, particularly with stakeholders in a banking context.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve issues independently and provide guidance to others in high-stakes environments.
- Environment Maintenance: Familiarity with OS and database patching and maintenance tasks in compliance with banking security protocols.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Python, and PowerShell.
- Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting and analysis, particularly with financial databases.
- Advanced Java 8+ skills, including multi-threading, microservices (Spring Boot), and RESTful API development for banking applications.
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Apache Airflow and Lumen.
- CI/CD proficiency with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and AWS/Azure, with a focus on banking industry standards.
- Monitoring & Observability: Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., ELK, Grafana, AppDynamics, Kibana, Prometheus) and implementing observability tailored to financial systems.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail in issue resolution and troubleshooting, especially critical in banking operations.
