Job Description: Steam Engineer
Barrington James is currently looking for an Steam Engineer for one of our Global MNC client. This is an exciting opportunity to work and liaise with various end clients in the Energy & Facilities Management department.
Title: Steam Engineer
Salary: SGD 4,000 - 5,000
Location: Singapore, Central
Responsible for smooth and safe operations of the facility, including the steam system and auxiliary operations.
- Responsible for monitoring the operating status of the plant by observing control system parameters, BMS, and distributed control systems, including steam system and auxiliary operations.
- Conduct regular field inspections of plant, stations, subsystems, and equipment to ensure normal and safe operating conditions.
- Supervise and lead boiler and plant operators to operate treatment processes according to process parameters and emission limit compliance.
- Identify plant optimization points and support the implementation of approved tasks by the site manager.
- Propose, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures for plant operations and regular maintenance with the support of the operations and maintenance team.
- Analyze, interpret, and report on steam operations data and plant performance on a periodic and timely basis.
- Recover from plant process upsets and equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct regular inspection and testing of equipment to ensure it is safe and operating efficiently.
- Ensure follow-up on CMMS for logs of maintenance activities and repair procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment.
- Inspect facilities for hazards such as leaks, corrosion, or exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Monitor steam pressure and temperature levels to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Consult with management to provide advice on how to improve efficiency or reduce operating costs.
- Ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
- Other tasks assigned by the site manager.
Job Requirements:
- Class 2 Steam Engineer registered with MOM.
- Familiar with FMEA, HAZAOP, and Job Hazard Analysis methodologies.
- Good interpersonal, management, and decision-making skills.
- Strong innovative and analytical problem-solving skills.
- A registered First-Aider Certification is an added advantage.
- Has a strong safety mindset and demonstrates good Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) behavior.
- Relevant Diploma and Working Experience of 3-8 years.
