Strategic Product Manager, Engineering

Durapower Group take pride as a Singapore enterprise specialises in the design, manufacturing, and integration of lithium battery systems for automotive and energy storage systems

This role will oversee product management team and directly reporting to Director of Engineering. The person must be able to speak English and Mandarin as he or she will also collaborate closely with the Engineering staff in China.

The person will work closely with key stakeholders from strategic development and sales, engineering and production. This person shall be well versed in communication and coordination, strategic and organized personality, proactive, experienced and skilful in managing a team. Experienced in engineering and equipped with product management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

. Secure and confirm customer requirements and operational profiles to communicate effectively with R&D / plant engineers and ensure successful system integration with other vehicle components.

. Offer technical assistance to clients on existing and new projects and products. Ensure customer satisfaction.

. Assign ownership and manage the company Li-Ion battery product portfolio (Commercial EV and Marine) in providing fast technical-commercial proposal (support) to BD & sales team for pre-sales activities, for APAC, EU and US.

. Updated with market competitors capability on product benchmarking, working closely with R&D and engineering team in Singapore and China team to achieve strategic goals.

. Working closely with Strategic Development and Engineering Director in market - product penetration, product development roadmap, in securing market leading position with right technology, right cost (ROI) and right timing, through strategic partnership and/or organic growth. Strategize cost reduction efforts with engineering, procurements and all functions to ensure competitive price.

. Achieve product standardization with core segmentation to achieve stronger product brands, better economic of scale and technological improvement.

. As the product manager/owner to manage product brochures, product manual, BOM, Spare Parts and maintenance, and to secure customer testing / certification requirements for their applications/region.

. Liaise with customers (BD/sales manager), work with PMO team and engineering / manufacturing plant to support ongoing projects as gate keeper.

. Communicate design change requests, design issues and potential optimization of battery systems to appropriate product engineering and manufacturing teams.

. Train customers and colleagues on Durapower products and applications where applicable.

. Maintain proper organization and documentation for different projects and product portfolio and ensure proper record keeping.

. Proven leadership in managing and leading product management team of multinational.

. Manage team capability to provide Engineering Field Support (as when needed). Compile field failure from Aftersales to implement CIP.

Requirements:

. Degree/Masters or Phd. in Electrical Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.

. Experienced product manager with total 8 - 13 years experience in development or application engineering, or system integration and product management, preferably in the space of mobility or electrification.

. Inclusive 3 - 8 years of experience in product management portfolio in mobility or electrification industry preferably with APAC, EU or US markets.

. Knowledge of Singapore and regional electrical standards, global vehicle standards and basic safety requirements.

. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, as the role requires close collaboration with our engineering team in China.

. Can-do attitude, and high EQ to manage customer relationships, and key stakeholders from strategic BD team, engineering team and PMO team.

. Experience working with technical - sales/BD performance related KPI.

. Work location based in SG, willing to travel on demand basis.
