Responsibilities:
. Review and approve the structural design, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and best practices for data centre construction.
. Manage and lead a team of structural engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and ensuring efficient project execution.
. Collaborate closely with the architectural, MEP, and construction teams to ensure structural elements are integrated seamlessly with the overall building design.
. Supervise on-site structural work to ensure it adheres to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
. Ensure all structural work is completed according to the highest quality standards, conducting inspections and overseeing testing processes for structural components.
. Oversee the review and approval of structural calculations, ensuring that load-bearing and stability requirements are met for the data centre's unique design and operational needs.
. Monitor and manage the structural work schedule, ensuring key milestones are met on time and within budget. Address any potential delays or cost overruns.
. Identify and mitigate risks related to structural design, construction methods, and materials. Resolve any technical challenges that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
. Ensure that all structural work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Work with authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.
. Ensure that all structural work is completed to specification and provide the necessary documentation for final handover to the client, including as-built drawings, structural certifications, and testing reports.
Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) is an advantage.
. Minimum 5-10 years of experience in structural management within the construction industry, with a strong focus on large-scale, complex projects such as data centres, commercial buildings, or industrial facilities.
. Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction techniques, with experience in data centre and other specialized construction projects.
. Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers, work cross-functionally with other teams, and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in making critical decisions related to structural design, materials, and site challenges to maintain project timelines and quality.
