The Structural Steelwork Inspection Manager is responsible for overseeing the inspection and quality assurance of structural steelwork in compliance with the SAC-SINGLAS. This role involves managing inspection teams, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety in all inspection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of structural steel inspectors, ensuring efficient and effective execution of inspection activities.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the inspection team.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to ensure high-quality inspection outcomes.
- Inspection and Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the inspection of structural steelwork, ensuring compliance with SAC-Singlas standards and project specifications.
- Review and approve detailed inspection reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality workmanship.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with local regulations, building codes, and SAC-Singlas accreditation requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all inspection activities, test results, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to project stakeholders, highlighting inspection findings and recommended improvements.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of inspection activities.
- Develop and manage inspection schedules, ensuring timely completion of inspection tasks in line with project timelines.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during inspections promptly and effectively.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in inspection and quality assurance.
- Stay updated with industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methodologies into the inspection process.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with SAC-Singlas standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural steelwork inspection, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS SCWI or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Certification in non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ASNT Level III or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SAC-Singlas Structural Steelwork Inspection, local building codes, and industry regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using inspection software and tools.
