Job Summary
To perform Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) approvals for laboratory test results, inclusive of all classification and effective stress tests performed to BS1377, ISO 17892 and ASTM standards. To assist in the processing and reporting of advanced test methods. To aid in the response to queries regarding assigned projects and continuous improvements in efficiency within the department.
Working together with the Data Lead, Team Leader and other QA/QC Engineers to ensure that the reporting deadlines are met for assigned projects. To report progress and potential time-critical issues to Programme Manager, where required.
About the Role
QAQC approve test results from all areas of the laboratory performed to BS1377, ASTM and ISO standards; effective stress
Aid in the response to email and telephone queries regarding assigned projects (both internal and external stakeholders)
Produce digital versions of laboratory test results in multiple formats for issue to internal/external clients alongside PDF versions (e.g. AGS
- 0 data files, ASCII data). Maintain extraction tools associated with creation of AGS and ASCII data utilising excel macros and add-ins
Assist in the training of junior team members to perform QAQC activities where necessary
Help in maintaining accreditation of the laboratory and promote good QAQC practices for all staff. Adhere to all Fugro QHSSE Management systems, policies and standards at all times
About you
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Relevant experience in soil testing industry, preferably with minimum 3 5 years in laboratory QC role
Strong analytical ability, organisational and time management skills
Self driven, possess excellent team spirit and good interpersonal skills
Proficient in MS office applications
