Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptional and ambitious individual to join our team as a Supervisor, Payroll. As a world-class leader in the field of life sciences, we are dedicated to enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This unique opportunity will allow you to showcase your expertise in managing regional payroll operations for various APAC countries, ensuring flawless and timely processing of end-to-end payroll cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations for payroll across multiple APAC countries.
  • Check, validate, and ensure completeness and timeliness of payroll submissions for approval.
  • Develop, oversee, and evaluate payroll service level agreements (SLAs) and performance benchmarks.
  • Drive the team to exceed customer expectations.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present reports to key stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and solutions for complex payroll calculations and statutory compliance.
  • Address and resolve complex situations, ensuring effective solutions and identifying underlying causes.
  • Liaise with vendors and collaborate on solutions when needed.
  • Ensure standard operating models and payroll processes are up to date.
  • Assist in audit operations and implement recommendations.
  • Develop controls and procedures to ensure policy compliance.
  • Stay updated with payroll regulatory changes and analyze implications.
  • Initiate and drive process improvements.
  • Provides back-up support to team members as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a payroll supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, tax laws, and legislation in APAC countries.
  • Excellent organization, planning, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workforce in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and proactive.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Strong personal credibility with ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and a role model for values, ethics and integrity.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Sage EPE system, e-Cirtrix clocking system, Workday system and Service Now ticketing system is an added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google products.
  • Must have at least Intermediate level MS Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
