Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. Job Purpose
As part of second line of defense, this role oversees and ensures that liquidity risks are effectively identified, assessed and mitigated across the region. This encompasses policy development, monitoring compliance with regulatory liquidity standards, conducting stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluation potential liquidity challenges.
Key Accountabilities
- Regional Oversight: Provide regional oversight and harmonise Group liquidity framework and methodologies across locations
- Policy Development: Assist in the formulation and review of liquidity policies and practices to ensure they align with regulatory expectations and industry best practice
- Regulatory engagement: Support ad-hoc regulatory / audit requests
- Projects and Initiatives: Participate in liquidity initiatives such as intraday liquidity monitoring / Risk Sensing / BAU enhancements
Responsibilities
- Regional Oversight: Provide risk monitoring oversight and harmonise Group liquidity framework and methodologies across locations
- Policy Development: Assist in the formulation and review of liquidity policies and practices, such as intraday liquidity management, to ensure they align with Group and regional regulatory standards and industry best practice
- Data Analysis: Analyze liquidity data, stress testing results, and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for liquidity management strategies
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret regional regulatory developments and ensure the organization's practices are compliant with local and international regulations
- Management reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders on liquidity position, risks, and policy effectiveness
- Collaboration: Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to support liquidity management initiatives and enhance communication around liquidity issues
- Research: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in liquidity management
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of working experience, of which, at least 5 years of relevant experience in liquidity risk / treasury role in a bank
- Good understanding on market developments and implications on liquidity risk management, such as 2023 US Banking Crisis
- Familiar with prevailing regulatory liquidity requirements and emerging trends
- Practical experience in data and system enhancements / implementation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting risk assessments and managing discussions with senior management and key stakeholders
- Good team player, result-oriented with strong sense of ownership
- Prior treasury management experience is a plus
