You want learn how to
Install new systems (virtual machines), rebuild existing systems and configure hardware
Develop and maintain configuration management tools
Contribute to and maintain system standards
Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks
Manage security on the systems platform
Perform and ensure daily automated backup operations are carried out
Apply operating system patches and upgrades on a regular basis
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Make recommendations for future upgrades
You gain experience and exposure into
Linux system administration
Configuration management knowledge (Cfengine, Puppet, Ansible, etc)
