Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a network environment, including tasks such as configuring VLANs, LAGs, and other network components.
- Deploy, manage, and support the implementation of virtual machines and servers using hypervisors like VMware or Proxmox.
- Execute and maintain data backup processes and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network systems, replacing faulty components when necessary.
- Schedule and carry out maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades as required.
- Plan, implement, and manage network security measures to safeguard data, software, and hardware.
- Coordinate and implement IT support policies, including helpdesk procedures and user IT guidelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience in a role such as Network/System Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar.
- Familiarity with hypervisors like VMware or Proxmox.
- Experience with various servers and services commonly deployed as virtual machine (VM) guests.
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification/experience will be advantage.
- Strong understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP models.
- Equivalent experience from personal projects (e.g., managing a home lab) may also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, network analysis tools, and network security practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
