Summary of Job Description: Systems and Cloud Engineer
Role Overview:
The Systems and Cloud Engineer, reporting to the Hosting and Storage Management Tower, collaborates with Managed Services Partners, IT teams, and business stakeholders to design, build, and support on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based (Azure and AWS) infrastructure solutions. This role ensures service delivery, support, and alignment with business needs while serving as a trusted advisor in IT transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer IT infrastructure solutions for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments (Azure and AWS).
- Act as a subject matter expert for infrastructure and end-user technologies.
- Provide Level 3 support for IT Shared Services and Cloud operations.
- Manage and resolve system incidents through root cause analysis and problem management.
- Implement changes following established processes and develop/maintain infrastructure standards.
- Support service delivery and meet service level agreements for business and IT stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; 5-7 years experience in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), VMware, Microsoft, and Linux.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Azure, AWS, VMware, Active Directory, and Windows OS.
- Knowledge of system tools like SCCM, SCOM, Dyna Trace, and SolarWinds.
- Strong storage virtualization and network technology understanding.
- Certifications in Cloud, VMware, and Microsoft technologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive, collaborative team player with stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and align teams toward shared goals.
Additional: Experience in health/security IT operations is advantageous. Minimal travel (<5%), with on-call responsibilities for operational escalations.
