We are looking for a System Engineer with Linux and Windows experience to work with the critical infrastructure within the Railway industry.
· Familiar with general Linux system administration - shells scripts (create/modify/execute), ansible (create/modify/execute), apache/nginx, permission management, user management, hardening, patching etc.
· Familiar with General windows system administration - AD, GPOs, Powershell scripts (create/modify/execute), WSUS, IIS, Permission management, hardening, patching etc
· Able to troubleshoot common OS related issues independently
· Support in IT integration of sub-systems
· Support in defining and configuring IT System software: OS, VM, COTS, IP parameters, apply hardening procedures
· Support in proposing and implementing integration, verification and validation (IVV) scenarios
· Assist in providing associated documentation
- Key Skills and Experience
· Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline (essential)
· At least 1 year of experience in a System/IT Engineering role
· Systems engineering basics knowledge
· Deep knowledge of operating system fundamentals, especially Linux, VMware
· Fluency with the Unix command line and shell scripting
· Practical experience with modern Linux systems and systems programming concepts like C, sockets, virtual memory, and the process life cycle
· Basic understanding of network protocols
· Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of profiling/debugging tools such as gdb, perf, DTrace, or SystemTap
· Clear and concise communication skills, as well as the ability to efficiently analyze and deconstruct technical problems
· Practice of Linux and Windows
· Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle
