The System Engineer will provide Level 1/2 system support to manage servers for a government agency. The role includes incident management, service request fulfillment, system patching, standby support, and other operational tasks to ensure the reliability and security of on-premises and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Management:Monitor new incidents and prioritize resolution.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Provide timely follow-up and closure of incidents.
Update and maintain incident status within the IT Service Management (ITSM) system. - Service Request Fulfillment:Monitor new service requests (SR) and work on assigned SRs.
Set up and configure new systems.
Perform OS and application hardening.
Ensure timely updates and closure of SRs.
Update the Asset Management team on issued/returned assets. - Monthly Patching:Perform system patching and validate system functionality post-patching.
- 24x7 Standby Support:Provide round-the-clock standby support and attend onsite requests when required.
- Daily Health Checks and Vendor Management:Conduct daily system health checks and submit reports.
Escort and coordinate with vendors as needed. - Other Tasks:Execute additional tasks related to the system engineer role as required.
- Technical Expertise:Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS support, troubleshooting, and Active Directory. - Experience:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Microsoft Server administration.
- Certification:Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification.
