Systems Engineer (IT Operations and virtualization)

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in IT Operations and virtualization implementation to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, focusing on the deployment, management, and optimization of virtualized environments. This role requires hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, proficiency in system monitoring and troubleshooting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

. Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, and/or other leading virtualization platforms.

. Oversee day-to-day IT operations, monitoring systems performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum uptime and performance.

. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize infrastructure, including server, storage, and networking resources, to support business needs and scalability.

. Develop and maintain system configurations, documentation, and policies for IT infrastructure.

. Conduct regular backup and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.

. Monitor, analyze, and improve system performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.

. Coordinate with security teams to enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards.

. Automate routine tasks and optimize processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

. Support end-users by resolving escalated technical issues and providing guidance on best practices for system usage.

Qualifications:

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

. 6+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a related role.

. Proven experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM.

. Proficiency in system administration, including Linux and Windows operating systems.

. Familiarity with network protocols, storage management, and backup/recovery procedures.

. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, SolarWinds).

. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
