Job Description:
A part-time tax adviser familiar with both Singapore and cross-border (Asia) tax policies and able to provide tax advice for SME businesses clients.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as corporate tax consultant in any industry.
Responsibilities:
A part-time tax consultant role is broad in nature, but typically includes the following:
- Familiar with discussions around corporate income tax, tax incentives, GST, custom duties in Singapore and other key jurisdictions - participate meaningfully in the discussion with client
- Review of corporate income tax computation prepared by executives
- Optimization of Transfer Pricing between Corporate Taxes and Custom Duties within regulatory parameters to achieve the best financial outcome
- Minimizing Corporate & Withholding Taxes during the structuring of IntraGroup Loans, Royalties, Management Fees and Dividends
- Advisory work on free trade agreements and double tax treaties within Asia, including China
- Advisory work on clients tax risk and uncertain tax positions, and proactively drive preparation of audit defense support
- Identifying market entry or exit tax issues and workarounds. Legal entity rationalization. Transactional or operating model design, review and implementation.
- Tax governance and tax risk management.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree holder in Accounting or Finance.
- Chartered accountant, CPA or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years tax experience.
- Energetic with an enthusiastic, proactive and hands-on approach.
- Proven history of managing multiple tax projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience handling corporate direct and indirect taxes in the APAC region, with working knowledge of transfer pricing issues and implications.
- Ability to effectively work with and communicate tax advice to management.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Tax accounting experience.
