UWCSEA has permanent vacancies at its Dover Campus for Primary School Teaching Assistants.
Guided by the Classroom Teacher, the Teaching Assistant (TA) will create materials, assist in the organisation and administration of the classroom and deliver instruction to their allocated students in support of their learning.
To support student learning in the classroom under the direction of the teacher.
- Communicate effectively with students and ensure that their learning is prioritised and supported fully and appropriately
Engage in all aspects of student learning and curriculum, including programme delivery.- Monitor and record student progress, wellbeing and behaviour and communicate concerns and successes to the Classroom Teacher in order to ensure students are working towards their goals
Support students during break times as well as arrival and departure in the bus bay as required
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of individual/family circumstances and any other administrative duties as assigned
Certificate/diploma in related discipline is preferred.
- 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity is preferred.

be competent with technology and willing to learn new programs and applications- be available once a year to participate in a residential camp that will require the teaching assistant to stay overnight. In the younger grades this is for one night, in older grade levels it can be for up to four nights a week for three weeks in a row.
This role has the following physical demands: walking children to different locations on our large campus (this can be up to 10 times a day); working with children on the floor (sitting next to them playing games etc); climbing up staircases supervising groups of children; actively supervising playground activities e.g. climbing frames, monkey bars; assisting in PE lessons (eg taking a ball skills group); physically helping children get dressed and undressed; sitting at small tables working with groups of children.
