This position will lead the team to deliver high quality, innovative, sustainable solutions to the customer with complete responsibility for safe and cost-effective management of the vessels assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities:
. Cost control of operation and maintenance of fleet within approved budgets.
. Fleet ships compliance to rules and regulations of Flag State, Port States and International Maritime authorities and Class requirements.
. To participate in the development and improvement of company's Safety Management System procedures.
. To monitor ship's performance and investigate the cause of under- performance include fuel oil / lube oil consumption if not in-line with the optimum values. Monitor, review effectiveness of vessels Planned Maintenance System and make proposed changes for continuous improvement.
. To approve the procurement of ship's spare / stores requisitions based on authority level and make arrangement of supplies & services to support shipboard maintenance works.
. To engage and evaluate service contractors when requires.
. To prepare docking specification for quotation by the respective shipyards, subcontractors and follow up on docking/repairs.
. To review management of change, include risk assessment of vessel's new equipment/machinery affecting safe & smooth technical operations.
. To review the risk management / assessment of vessels critical jobs and technical operations.
. To prepare & disseminate technical information / circulars / bulletins on regulations / requirements pertaining to ship equipment.
. To review, monitor & propose close out vessels NCs for Critical Equipment / machinery breakdown.
Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree/Diploma or equivalent in Marine Engineering / Internationally recognized shipping degree/qualification
. Hold COC Class 1
. A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as Chief Engineer/Second Engineer on board oil tannkers or VLCC is strongly preferred.
