We are looking to recruit a Technical Superintendent for their Ship Management setup. The successful applicant will be responsible for looking after a number of container vessels ensuring efficient technical operation of the assets. The candidate will report directly to the Fleet Manager.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure and take responsibility that your assigned vessels are technically operational and operated within the agreed budget but always managed according to the applicable rules and regulations.
- Cooperate closely with specialized colleagues from the Crewing, IT and Purchase Department to ensure smooth operation of your vessels.
- Monitor budgets of your vessels which includes vessel requisitions and approvals that you may have to give. Close cooperation with Fleet Controlling ensuring OPEX and DryDocking budgets are met.
- Liaise with Classification societies, flag state administrations and regulatory bodies ensuring your vessel's compliance.
- Monitor and ensure that claims / insurance cases are being handled with care and assist with technical expertise and documentation, if required.
- Cooperate closely with the QHSE/Marine Department for any Safety and Security matters on board your ships.
Preferable qualifications and requirements
- A motivated, driven and eager character interested to complete a recently established technical team and support the operations.
- Technical experience at sea as Chief Engineer followed by a few years in a Technical Superintendent role ashore.
- Capability of evaluating and monitoring complex technical operations of ships trading around the globe. Be a team player that is responsible, structured and motivated as to living up to company values and supporting transparent communication.
- Fluent written and spoken English allowing you to freely communicate among a multi-national Team and of course the vessel's crew.
