- You will be responsible for the overall management and technical operations of our fleet. This includes overseeing the daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, onboard general assessment of vessels, inspections etc.
- Plan, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, survey and certificate requirements, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned ships, including preparation of docking specifications, cost compilation and the final reports
- Update, implement and monitor the Planned Maintenance System Programs
- Carry out ship inspections (Technical Inspection / Internal Audits) and prepare associated reports
- Formulate a dynamic work plan and action list with the Chief Engineer
- Ensure that the ship is maintained according to the Company's policy and receive regular reports for its progress
. Ensure the assigned vessels are technically operational or otherwise managed accordingly to the management agreement requirement and work closely with the Marine & Operations team.
. Liaise with customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance, etc
. Perform technical compliance audits and investigation on defects/failures (as required) to ensure conformance.
. Work closely with the HSE Management team to ensure smooth and successful implementation of QHSE system and policies for the Division.
- Help select a suitable Chief Engineer, Engineer Officers and ratings for ships under his care
- Verify the work and performance of the Chief Engineer, Engineer officers and rating
- Attend to oil majors vetting requirements of the fleet ships, as required
- Monitor fuel oil and lube oil testing results and take necessary corrective action promptly
- Ensure that all copies of statutory, SOLAS, MARPOL and equipment certificates are maintained up to date and documented.
- Ensure the timely supply and maintain a sufficient stock of engine room stores, spares, and other maintenance items on board at all times
- Ensure annual servicing of portable and fixed LSA & FFA such as fire extinguishers, L/rafts, SCBA sets, EEBD sets, L/boat and Rescue boat davit annual test, EPIRB and VDR annual performance test, L/boat air bottle, BA compressor air quality test, etc.
- Help in preparation and maintaining the Company's TMSA / DOC / Owner's Audits
- Take active part in Weekly Management Meetings and Quarterly & Annual Management Reviews.
- Prepare Quarterly Reports for Owners.
- Keep abreast, update and implement new rules, regulations and legislations applicable to the Company and Fleet
- Help plan, coordinate and attend to the new-build, delivery and sale of the ship, as and when required
- Draw up, implement and monitor the budget and cost control for the fleet, including docking and modifications
- Incident / Accident Investigation and Reporting, as required.
- Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required by the Management.
Job Requirements:
- Possess Certificate of Competency (Engine) Class 1
- Preferably to have 2-year experience as Chief Engineer in petroleum / chemical tankers and 4-stroke main diesel engines
- Preferably have 2-year experience as shore-based Technical Superintendent
- Good communication skills in English
- Should be firm believer in Team work
- Has good organizational skills with hands-on approach in technical trouble shooting and problem solving
- Able and willing to travel overseas to visit or sail with company vessels or other assigned vessels as and when required
- Preferably Singapore PR or Citizen.
