You will work in the Environmental Health Institute, and be a part of Project Wolbachia - Singapore, an innovative project that aims to reduce the risk of dengue in Singapore. You will be working in the mosquito production facility.
We are looking for a committed individual to support routine operations for large-scale production of male Wolbachia-Aedes mosquitoes. Training will be provided. The outcomes are expected to contribute towards improving public health.
The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities:
- Able to systematically perform routine workflow correctly with an eye for details
- Able to handle mosquitoes of different life stages (e.g. larvae and pupae)
- Able to work after office-hours, weekends and public holidays, on occasions
- Self-driven and able to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced working environment
- Physically fit to perform manual work
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in a laboratory or insectary setting will be advantageous
