Temporary Dental Radiography Teaching Assistant

Job Description

1. Closely supervise and train students to observe proper radiography procedure with regards to patient care, radiography technique, infection control, scanning protocol and documentation.
2. Apply appropriate radiographic projections and position patients to produce images with optimal diagnostic quality consistently.
3. Work in conjunction with academic staff to conduct practical sessions on intraoral and extra oral radiography.
4. Conduct pre-clinical and clinical competency tests
5. Arrange and conduct remedial lessons for students who fail clinical competency tests. Retest after remedial.
6. To supervise students on pre-clinical Endodontics radiography work process.
7. Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of Oral Radiology Module

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography (AHPC registered), OR
Diploma in Oral Health Therapy
Years of Qualification:
At least 5 years of working experience as a diagnostic radiographer or Oral Health Therapist (Part 1 or Part 2 with 1 clinical practice)
Knowledge and Skills :

1. Competent radiography skills, and ability to evaluate the quality of images
2. Understand the necessity of the radiological examination so as to identify crucial information relevant to the case
3. Technology literacy and able to abreast with new development
4. Working knowledge on radiologic sciences with regards to radiation protection and patient care
5. Fast learner
6. Ability to work in stressful environment
7. A responsible attitude with good teamwork skills
8. A passion to teach
