INTRODUCTION
The Railway industry today is characterized by both a strong and sustained growth across the world. Alstom as historical main contractor of the five first stages of the Circle line, was awarded for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Signaling System (Communications-Based Train Control) for the Circle Line 6 (CCL6) extension. This extension will add three stations between HarbourFront and Marina Bay MRT stations, closing the loop for CCL. The stations are: Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road. This is a very challenging project which requires Alstom to execute complex and new work and strong coordination with various stakeholders (E&M, Civil, Trackwork, System Integrator, Public Transport Authorities and Operator).
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- Participate in the development of the T&C procedures and adequate method statements based on defined specifications from the system and sub system design to meet the contractual requirements.
- Prepare, manage and lead the on-site execution of the T&C activities until final handover to the authority.
- Coordinate and lead the execution of the Integrated T&C activities (external interfaces tests) with the participating E&M contractors.
- Execute the on-site testing based on the approved subsystem procedures and Method Statements.
- Troubleshoot and provide preliminary investigations report on faults identified during the site testing.
- Perform testing and reporting activities consciously with quality,
- Maintain a close coordination with the different internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Installation, V&V and metiers experts to secure the delivery of the Signalling System under commissioning.
- Ensure the application of all EHS Golden rules (AZDP) during T&C activities.
S/he reports functionally to the ATS T&C Leader and hierarchically to the T&C Manager. Maintains a close relationship with the others members of the T&C and V&V teams.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Technical Competencies & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in engineering, V&V, T&C or maintenance for railway signaling,
- Knowledge in deployment processes of Driverless Signaling systems (or with similar complexity),
- Good knowledge in Signaling environments and railway operations principles,
- Ability to define the testing principles leading to the preparation of the tests plans and/or procedures and reports, ability to define acceptance criteria,
- Experience in leading the troubleshooting of complex issues involving various internal and external systems. Relevant experience in commissioning of complex systems (ATS, SCADA or similar),
- Knowledgeable in OPC client-server architectures, XML, COM/DCOM, Database (MS-SQL), Windows HMI design, basic network configuration, and operating systems fundamentals,
- Knowledgeable in common programming and scripting languages,
- Experience in software testing and problem troubleshooting.
