Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Trading Executive/ Junior Trader with 3-5 years of experience in the agriculture commodities space, in areas of palm oil, laurics, or cocoa. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in middle office operations who are eager to transition into a front-office trading role. As a Junior Trader, you will work closely with the Head Trader to further develop and expand market opportunities, with the potential to grow into a full-fledged trader position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Development & Strategy: Collaborate with the Head Trader to analyze market trends, identify trading opportunities, and develop market strategies to grow and optimize the commodity trading portfolio.
- Trade Execution Support: Assist in the execution of trades in palm, laurics, and cocoa markets. Support the Head Trader in managing positions and ensuring that trading strategies align with company objectives.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, including tracking price movements, geopolitical developments, supply-demand dynamics, and other market factors to inform trading decisions.
- Risk Management: Work closely with risk management teams to ensure that risk exposure is appropriately managed and aligned with the company's risk appetite.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including suppliers, buyers, and other stakeholders in the commodities value chain.
- Operational Support: Collaborate with back and middle office teams to ensure smooth and efficient trade settlements, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in agriculture commodities, with specific exposure to palm, laurics, or cocoa markets.
- Proven experience in middle office/ front office roles, with a strong understanding of trade lifecycle, risk management, and market analysis.
- A strong interest in transitioning into front-office trading and developing a career in commodities trading.
- Solid analytical skills and a keen interest in market trends and price movements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with traders, market participants, and internal teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (preferred).
