TRAINEE Preschool Teacher

The role of the Trainee Teacher is to support the Lead Teacher in establishing and maintaining a safe learning environment that is cognitively stimulating, aesthetically pleasing, and fosters a child's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive growth using a Reggio Emilia Inspired approach to a child learning.
Responsibilities include:
- Care, play, and learning with young children
- Build trusting, respectful, and professional relationships with children and families
- Keep children safe and healthy
- Assist in the preparation of the indoor and outdoor learning environments (ex: setting up provocations, preparing materials and supplies, cleaning up, properly storing materials in collaboration with the children, preserving children's work under the direction of the teaching staff)
- Stock classroom with cleaning and paper supplies and include the children in this routine
- Prepare, serve, and clean up snacks and role model appropriate table manners and facilitate social conversations
- Help children to learn to self-regulate during rest time and in resolving social conflicts with peers
- Assist children in toileting, hand washing, and with minor injuries
- Support teachers and collaborate with The Corner Playhouse staff to provide best practices
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- N/ O Levels (Proficient in English a MUST)
- Enthusiastic and flexible team player
- Respect for children's unique personalities, differences, cultures and their ability to construct their own discovery and learning.
- Confident with leading a group of 6 - 9 students.
