JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend to needs of the residents. Ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents and reports residents need to the nurse.
- Check, monitor and record residents vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
- Ensure the comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under her/his care, eg, bed bath/shower bath, changing of clothes and bed sheets, keeping them clean and dry.
- Assist in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
- Assist in the conduct of daily exercise for the residents.
- Assist in serving meals and drinks, and feeding residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care given.
- Assist the nurse in nursing care, eg, caring for patients with urinary catheter.
- Accompany residents to the hospital/polyclinic for follow up appointments and outing trips.
- Alert nurses to emergency situations. When necessary, take first responder actions to mitigate the emergency.
- Work with nurses to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- ISC (ITE Skills Certificate) Homecare Course/Certificate in Eldercare/ Healthcare Assistant
- Preferably 1-2 years experience in Nursing Home / Healthcare Sector
