The Vaccines Finance Director Greater China and Intercontinental ensures ambitious, aligned & effective Plans and Forecasts as well as supports performance management and optimization through regular analysis, business insights and right balance of risks and opportunities. This role enables and builds strong commercial business cases for the GC&I region including launches and BD support. The scope includes providing partnering, decision support, financial analysis, and performance management for Vaccines in the GC&I region. It requires highly effective partnering with a range of roles including Regional/Area Finance Heads, Vaccines Markets Leaders, Vaccines Financial Leaders, and Vaccines Financial Partners in the Local Operating Companies (LOCs). Key interfaces will include both commercial and financial roles across a full spectrum of seniority and geographies. Success in the role requires strong influencing and interpersonal skills, ability to understand market dynamics in different markets (tenders, private markets, etc), work with a wide range of people and cultures and operate effectively in a complex matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will support building robust Vaccines plans in line with ambition, targets, and supply plans through engagement with and challenging the LOCs, Vaccines Markets Leaders and Vaccines Financial Leaders. This will include preparation of the relevant decks, performance and scenarios analysis for Plan, MYE and LQE discussions outlining the assumptions and Risks and Opportunities.
You lead and drive alignment between the Regions and Global Vaccines on mutually agreed forecasts and plans, including rolling forecasts, as well as building strong & aligned Risks and Opportunities.
You partner with senior management in the region and GVC enabling effective strategy and decision making, covering Sales, P&L and Balance Sheet, which are informed by critical business analysis and insights in the following areas - contracting, tenders, BDs, etc.
You support monthly performance reviews (MPRs) to influence effective decision making in the business, including analysing performance and resource allocation, adapting priorities, and identifying actions to close the gaps.
You support financial aspects and negotiations of business development activities in the GC&I.
You support preparation to launches and FRCs for the region actively collaborating with VFLs, VMLs, region and markets to enable launch planning and decision making, providing key inputs and insights, supporting launch modelling and being a reference point for forecast reviews ahead of FRC.
You actively participate in the Actual closing process on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis providing the relevant analysis and insights to the Vaccines and regional teams.
You will support the preparation of the quarterly press releases covering GSK Vaccines business in GC&I via analysis of actual results, relevant business insights and partnering with the region and markets.
You actively influence and participate in the extended Finance Leadership Teams for GC&l and Global Vaccines and are a key member of the Global Demand Review Meeting.
You provide business insights (variance analysis monthly consensus forecast vs latest financial forecasts / supply / risks and opportunities) for the monthly Regional S&OP.
You ensure the leverage of CCC+ reports to increase Forecast Accuracy, reduce Bias and enable business insights, while reducing duplication of work across local, regional, and global teams.
You act as ambassador of changes in ways of working and financial processes and systems transformation to accelerate implementation and increase efficiency.
You will provide support to the GC&I region on other projects and analysis required outside of Vaccines business up to 25% of time.
Why You
Basic qualifications
Degree in Economics, Business or Finance
Min 8 years of experience in demonstrating advanced financial knowledge of accounting, model analysis, evaluation, forecasting and strategic planning.
Min 5 years of experience working within a complex non-finance matrix team.
Preferred qualifications
lnternationally recognized MBA or Finance qualification or through strong senior level experience
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead discussions with Senior Leaders.
Effective options analysis, scenario planning and decision making.
Good knowledge of GSK Finance standards, systems and processes
Finance experience related to Core Commercial Cycle, Manufacturing (especially vaccines) and Commercial preferred.
