The Role
As Data Governance Lead, you will assist in establishing and implementing the data governance framework across the bank, initially focusing on Singapore and extend to priority branches in the APAC region. Your primary responsibilities include regulatory compliance, enhancing regulatory reporting, managing data quality, developing and maintaining data lineage and architecture and operationalizing data governance practices, particularly with Collibra.
Job Responsibilities
Implement and operationalize data governance framework in accordance with regulatory standards and business objectives.
Ensure compliance with data-related regulatory standards, including BCBS 239 and develop relevant policies and frameworks.
Collaborate with IT and various Business Units to facilitate the operationalization of data governance.
Guide and manage data lineage, architecture, and business process integration efforts to uphold data integrity and accessibility.
Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures that are aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
Monitor and report to ensure implementation of Data Governance throughout critical functions and processes.
Lead the Data Governance Council by providing strategic direction and oversight for data governance initiatives.
Drive the adoption of Collibra and other data governance tools throughout the bank.
Expand and scale the data governance framework operationalization to other APAC branches.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years experience in data-related disciplines (e.g., Data Governance, Data Management, Regulatory Reporting, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, ETL, or Data Architecture).
Subject Matter Expertise along with extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing data governance automation within banking and financial institutions.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for a bank, including regulatory reporting, BCBS
Hands-on experience with data governance tools, particularly Collibra, and knowledge of other DG tools, such as Alation, Informatica, etc.
Proven track record in designing and implementing data quality, lineage, regulatory reporting, and architecture projects.
Advanced knowledge of data management practices, industry standards, Data Management/ Data Governance tools and technologies, and data governance frameworks.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments and business units/ functions (e.g., Risk, Finance, AML/ Compliance, Audit, Operations, or other stakeholders).
Professional certification in data governance (e.g., CDMP, Collibra, DGSP, CIMP), risk management (e.g., GARP, PRIMIA) are a plus.
Having experience in banks or consulting firms advising banking clients on implementing data governance frameworks and tools, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives, and involving practical work is valuable.
