Job Purpose
The Vice President/Director, Fund Specialist will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and recommending external investment funds for inclusion in the firm's portfolio offerings. The role requires a deep understanding of various asset classes, investment strategies, and fund performance metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities
(a) Fund Selection & Due Diligence
- Identify and evaluate a wide range of external investment funds (mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, etc.).
- Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis of fund managers and strategies, assessing historical performance, risk management, portfolio construction, fees, and alignment with firm's objectives.
- Perform ongoing monitoring and due diligence on existing funds in the portfolio, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to stated strategies.
(b) Research & Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging fund managers, trends, and innovative strategies across multiple asset classes.
- Analyse fund performance in the context of broader market conditions, including macroeconomic trends, interest rate movements, and regulatory changes.
(C) Portfolio Construction & Optimization:
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to build and maintain diversified fund portfolios that align with client risk profiles, return objectives, and time horizons.
- Recommend adjustments to fund allocations in response to performance reviews, market conditions, and client needs.
Prior Work Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in asset management or private banking.
- Proven track record in evaluating and recommending funds across multiple asset classes (equity, fixed income, alternatives).
- Experience in institutional or high-net-worth client environments is preferred.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
Domain Skills
- Investment expertise - should have an excellent grasp of the differences between investment-related-products and how they can support client goals.
- Client service -should be able to understand a client's goals and make financial decisions that support both long- and short-term investment objectives.
- Familiarity with financial regulations -should possess a high level of knowledge regarding financial laws and procedures to protect client investments and ensure that they are making proper decisions.
Soft Skills
- Deep understanding of investment products, portfolio theory, and asset management.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, risk analysis, and performance attribution.
