Job Description

Role: Global VP - Digital Marketplace

Location: Dubai, UAE

ABOUT THE JOB:

The VP E-com will lead and innovate our eCommerce strategy across multiple channels to drive growth and enhance our market presence in the FMCG sector, aligning with our ambitious 2030 strategy. The growth phase 1 will be entering China, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia etc.

This role entails prioritizing and managing both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and third-party eCommerce platforms, utilizing market analysis, SEO/SEM, and digital marketing to optimize performance. This will strategically manage the country RTM and focus on the key vendors/sellers and partners to drive our premium products in the right channels per country.

Additionally, the leader will address supply chain and logistics implications related to eCommerce operations. A key focus on logistics, return, fulfilments and reverse logistics solutions across each country whilst managing customer insights and trends. A key responsibility includes overseeing channel development with a focus on international markets such as China and Western markets (including North America), where eCommerce plays a prominent and dynamic role in the beverage space.

This role will build the eco systems and define the strategy across global geographies, it will focus on the major global marketplaces, key omni channel giants, quick Commerce, pure players along with aggregators.

The role will build brand identity, build a digital channel strategy, build the eco system, looking at impact efficiency, driving brand profit, manage key account growth, manage Analytics and market data.

Your Responsibility:

Market Analysis & Strategy

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify and prioritize key eCommerce channels effectively. Develop and implement strategic plans to excel in selected channels while staying ahead of market trends and the competitive landscape to adjust strategies as necessary.

eCommerce Platform Management

Oversee the management of both first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) eCommerce platforms, ensuring that platform operations align with overall business objectives and meet customer expectations.

Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Operations

Develop and manage DTC strategies with a focus on business growth and customer acquisition, collaborating with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of DTC platforms.

SEO/SEM and Digital Marketing

Lead SEO/SEM efforts to enhance visibility and drive traffic across DTC and third-party channels, while implementing and overseeing digital marketing strategies to maximize online presence and sales performance.

Analytics & Performance Evaluation

Utilize analytics tools to monitor and evaluate eCommerce performance, including sales, customer behavior, and channel effectiveness, developing actionable insights and recommendations based on performance data to drive continuous improvement.

Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination

Understand and address the supply chain and logistics implications associated with eCommerce channel management, collaborating with supply chain teams to align eCommerce operations with overall logistics and distribution strategies.

Cross-functional Leadership

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, IT, and logistics teams, to ensure cohesive eCommerce operations while providing strategic direction and guidance to eCommerce teams and supporting their professional development.

Market Expertise:

Leverage direct experience with Chinese eCommerce platforms and Western markets (e.g., Amazon) to inform strategy and execution, adapting strategies to meet diverse market needs and consumer behaviors across different regions.

Your Technical Knowledge of Expertise:

  • Proven experience in FMCG, beverages industry
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Expertise in eCommerce platform management (1P and 3P).
  • Proven experience with SEO/SEM and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain and logistics as they pertain to eCommerce.
  • Experience with Chinese eCommerce platforms and Western platforms like Amazon, JD, Tmall, Shopee, Lazada, Aliexpress, Rakuten is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

What is the requirement for this role:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in eCommerce roles within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of success.

A leader who has built a significant business from scratch, a profile who has substance and can deliver at board level and present to stakeholders.
