RedAnts ( ) is a Chinese online media platform focusing on viral topics of current affairs that are of interest to the Chinese community in Singapore. It is a fully owned subsidiary of SPH Media Trust (Chinese Media Group).
We are looking for suitable candidates to join our team as a Video Producer.
The Job
- Conceptualize stories independently to produce fresh, engaging content that resonates with audiences on social media and think visually to optimize audience engagement
- Manage and execute the pre and post-production of short (1-2 minutes) and longer-form feature news videos, which include proposing creative news angles, research and site recces, sourcing of profiles and personalities, pre-interviews, overseeing location shoots, conducting on-camera interviews, scripting, line-producing, overseeing video editing and other post-production processes, such as creating graphics for web and mobile video content, as well as archiving footages
- Ensuring final video meets expectations with compelling story-telling, professional delivery in terms of visuals, audio, graphics and special effects
- Understand audience engagement strategies on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms
- Generate and adapt visual content for different social media platforms
- Manage all video assets
- Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders, if necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in journalism, communications, or a related field, with 3-4 years of experience in news journalism.
- Strong interest in daily news and current affairs, including knowledge of events in China and Mandarin-speaking regions.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess significant news and tailor content to diverse target audiences.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Proficiency in videography or video editing is a plus.
- Familiarity with current trends across social media platforms.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to various tasks efficiently.
- Strong team orientation, with resourcefulness and self-motivation to work independently when needed.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to consistently meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and handle time-sensitive assignments.
