The Hut Limited (The Hut) is a non-profit organisation with a vision of Our Community for Children and Youth to Pursue their Dreams with a Heart to Serve. The Hut runs a drop-in centre in Marine Parade for children and youth aged 5 to 17 years old. Honouring Dreams, Unleashing Potential, Transforming Lives is The Huts mission day in, day out. As such, The Hut houses its flagship programme, EduGrow for Brighter Tomorrows, and co-creates programmes with our partners, customising programmes to cater to the specific needs of our children and youth.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Develop, roll-out and evaluate The Huts volunteer management framework and the processes to screen, onboard, match and engage volunteers
Plan and manage publicity efforts to drive volunteer recruitment- Curate and manage volunteer training programmes
Build good rapport with and develop good knowledge of The Huts volunteers
- Effectively communicate with and manage volunteers, ensuring regular engagement
Manage the volunteer management database and ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date- Design and update volunteer-related items such as application forms, policies, procedures and the volunteer handbook
Respond to queries relating to volunteer matters
- Execute best practices in volunteer management, improving the experience of volunteers and building internal capability to strengthen volunteer management
Co-create volunteer projects with The Huts children and youth- Administer volunteer surveys
Support volunteer programme reporting for management and internal/external stakeholders
- Utilise appropriate platforms for effective communication with volunteers and internal stakeholders to optimise engagement and coordination
Ensure confidentiality is maintained and adhere to PDPA policy- Oversee the volunteer-run literacy & numeracy programme
Oversee the mentoring component of The Hut's flagship programme EduGrow for Brighter Tomorrows and liaise with programme partner
- Engage children and youth during drop-in hours
Plan and execute the annual Volunteer Appreciation Day- Undertake any other duties as assigned
Work environment is a drop-in centre located at the first floor of a HDB block.
Need to be able to work on weekday nights once a week and Saturday mornings twice a month with time off in lieu.
Requirements and skills needed:- Bacherlor's Degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources or a relevant field and/or
1-3 years of work experience in a relevant field
- Passionate about volunteerism and working with children and youth
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with basic IT knowledge and skills- Organised with attention to detail and accuracy
Resourceful and innovative while being able to see big-picture
- Possess the resilience to handle challenges
Able to build positive working relationships and possess a collaborative spirit
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $3,- 00 - $3,500.00 per month
Schedule: - Monday to Friday
Weekend availability
