Being part of the Regional team in DBS Consumer Banking Group (CBG), playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Wealth Continuum and International Banking proposition, driving growth, and ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry.

As Business Development and Strategy Planning professional, you are required to have a deep understanding of the wealth management business with experience in local or foreign universal banks. Able to work closely with stakeholders from respective DBS CBG locations to understand the business drivers & challenges in order to effectively synersize & carve out an executable plan & drive desired outcome for the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the consumer banking sector across borders
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans for the Consumer Banking, focusing on new product and service offerings, market expansion, and customer acquisition
  • Business Development: Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and strategic alliances
  • Product Development: Work closely with product development teams to define and refine new product offerings, ensuring they meet market needs and align with the overall strategy
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, prepare business plans, and conduct feasibility studies to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
  • Competitive Analysis: Track and analyze competitors activities, strategies, and market share to identify opportunities and threats
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee strategic projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring successful execution and timely delivery
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within the Consumer Banking Division, including sales, marketing, operations, and technology
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare presentations and reports to senior management, outlining strategic recommendations, progress updates, and market insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, strategy planning, or a related field within the financial services industry, preferably in consumer banking or wealth management
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful business strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation/storyboarding, and interpersonal skills
  • Out-of-the-box thinker and creative problem solver who is able to manage complexity, ambiguity and open-ended questions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a positive working attitude
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated and strategic thinker with a passion for the financial services industry and a desire to make a positive impact on customers lives
  • Experience in building strong and effective relationships with key partners within and outside the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal teams, key partners and executive management through storyboarding
  • Self-starter and results-oriented, able to work independently and pragmatically
  • Structured with good planning and organising capability
  • Strong in Excel, Powerpoint (Communications, and/or Analytics experience would be a plus!)
