The individual in this role will analyse and execute worldwide strategic investments and divestments (M&A, partnerships, greenfield) and will be directly responsible for the deal execution process in allocated geographies and deals.
Responsibilities
- Drive investment strategy development in collaboration with senior leadership to develop and refine the investment strategy for the APAC region, aligning with corporate objectives and market trends.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities, partnerships, and M&A targets that enhance the company's portfolio.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and legal evaluations of target companies and projects.
- Develop and manage detailed financial models to perform valuations, assess risks, and overall feasibility of potential projects or acquisitions.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for investments and acquisitions, working closely with legal and financial advisors to structure deals effectively.
- Prepare investment memoranda and high quality presentations to assist group decision-making bodies in global investment decisions.
- Participate in strategic analysis projects for the group (namely portfolio analysis and business planning).
- Analyse greenfield projects in terms of economic risk and strategic options and provide reports of findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
- At least 12 years in core valuation, M&A, corporate finance or investment analysis. Big4, Investment Banking or Private Equity background is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of valuation (FCFF and FCFE), financing, accounting, and strategic analysis.
- M&A due diligence and deal negotiation (SPA, SHA, JDA, JV) experience required. Deal execution experience within APAC region countries is strongly desired.
- Experience in the Energy or Infrastructure sector, is required.
