Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
You will be the thought-leader to ensure we deliver state of the art technology at industry-best levels. As a specialist in solution design, application architecture and platform architecture, you will apply your built up skills and experience with in leading-edge high-tech environments to establish a world best practice.
The Big Picture
- Ensuring platforms are conforming to the Bank's architecture standards for new projects, ensure actual deployment conform to approved architecture application standards, and review changes risk for heighten application. This will be done through CBGT Design Authority review, Application Deployment Readiness review and weekly change review for heighten application
- Ensure standards and best practices are in place across the platform within Consumer Banking Technology and conform to Architecture Governance standards. Help the extended technology community to internalize and then adhere to these standards and best practices
- Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve productivity
- Actively collaborate with the enterprise architects to ensure all work items do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies and roadmaps
- Work with the platform engineers and enterprise architects to provide a consensus based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business need
- Actively collaborate with the enterprise architects in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise
- Be part of a team of architects and domain experts to provide fit for purpose solutions
Responsibilities- Subject Matter Expertise
- Able to work closely with the applications teams and other architects to drive high quality application development, raising the bar of engineering practices, and value adding to the technical delivery
- Survey market landscape for solution/application insights, direction, vendors, and methods
- Provides expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design artifacts
- Speak at internal conferences and authorship internal in publications
- Methodology and Quality Assurance
- Manage the risk across the platform IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies
- Write, or direct the writing of white papers that add further insight and thought in the solution/application area
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in a complex enterprise environment
- Experience in banking technology preferred
- Experience in design Cloud native, Event based and Microservice Architecture
- Deep End-to-End Enterprise Architecture understanding, including Enterprise Java Stack (JEE), JAVA spring boot, Rich UI and Front-End technologies (ReactJS, Kony, etc.), mobile applications (Android and iOS), Middleware technologies (Tibco, Solace, Kafka, Active MQ etc.), Mainframe technologies, Databases, Data Warehouses, and Core Banking solutions
- Experienced working in a cloud native work environment, spring cloud data, Spring Security, OAuth, service monitoring on cloud, PaaS environment such as Pivotal, Kubernetes
- Presence in open source projects will be huge plus
- Experience with event based and microservice solutions developed in large cloud computing infrastructures such as Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, and/or Google Cloud
- Strong communication skills including engaging senior management on strategic plans, leading project steering committees and status updates etc
- Experienced in Agile methodology
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent initiatives
- Excellent organizational, vendor management, negotiation, and prioritization skills
- Excellent team player and strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive and able to work under pressure, strong problem-solving skills and positive can do attitude
