Job Description
Reporting to the CIO, the VP for Solutions, will build and subsequently lead the Solutions organization at StarHub, providing ownership and direction across Starhub's business systems, productivity tools, and applications stack. The role will design and lead a team providing the full lifecycle of technology solutions, from initial business needs assessment through design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. He/she will closely collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Design Authority teams to ensure that all solutionswhether third-party or custom-builtdeliver value efficiently, securely, and at scale. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset and exceptional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the Solutions organization, overseeing the Finance Systems, People Systems, Productivity Systems, and Business Systems verticals.
- Align technology solutions with business strategy, ensuring that all systems meet the evolving needs of the organization.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions that improve business processes and enhance productivity.
- Partner with Design Authority to define and deliver the long-term roadmap for technology within each vertical, balancing immediate business needs with future-focused innovation.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure convergence between business requirements and technology solutions.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Business Analysts and Product Owners.
- Partner with senior leadership, business units, and engineering tribes to ensure that technology solutions are effectively supporting key business outcomes.
- Ensure the successful deployment and management of third-party SaaS applications, as well as bespoke in-house developed systems.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Platform teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
- Work with Design Authority to champion the standardization of systems and tools where appropriate to reduce complexity and improve operational efficiency across StarHub.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions, ensuring that all systems are reliable, secure, and scalable.
- Drive the ongoing optimization of business systems to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics to ensure systems are delivering the desired business outcomes.
- Implement strong governance practices to ensure adherence to security, compliance, and risk management policies.
- Work closely with business units to identify opportunities for improving customer-facing systems that enhance the overall customer experience.
- Ensure that systems supporting customer operations (e.g., billing, provisioning) are resilient, efficient, and aligned with customer satisfaction goals.
- Lead the Solutions team in designing solutions that support both internal users and external customers, prioritizing user experience and seamless integration.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in a senior leadership role within technology or IT organizations, preferably within a large enterprise or similar environment in Telecommunications industry.
- Prior experience with customer experience improvement initiatives, including NPS (Net Promoter Score) improvements through technology.
- Experience leading digital transformation initiatives, particularly in relation to cloud technologies and business systems optimization.
- Proven experience in leading the delivery of large-scale enterprise systems across multiple verticals, including Finance, HR, and Business Systems.
- Expertise in both third-party SaaS applications and custom-built software solutions, with a strong understanding of the complexities and trade-offs involved.
- Strong familiarity with business process design, system integration, and operational efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based technologies, modern development frameworks, and security best practices.
- Demonstrate ability to manage cross-functional teams, with engineering and platform teams to drive alignment on technology choices and implementation.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
