Job Description & Requirements
- Serves food and beverages
- Ensures table and chairs are arranged neatly
- Ensures table settings such as utensils, plates, cups etc are in placed
- Prepares Chinese Tea, Refills vinegar, soya sauce, salt and pepper
- Clears used dishes and cleans the utensils
- Dries plates, bowls, tea pots, cups and cutleries
- Bleaches tea pots, cups, glasses, cutleries
- Cleans lazy susans (a turntable / rotating tray)
- Removes food particles from tablecloth before sending for wash
- Counts linen before sending for wash
- Performs duties of a food checker on rotation basis
Those with more years of experience will be considered for the position of Captain / Assistant Captain.
- Takes food and beverage orders
- Recommends specialty dishes to customers
- Seat customers, Serves food and beverages
- Checks utensils on tables are in placed
- Ensures good condition of chinaware, glassware and tablecloth
- Clears away used chinaware and tablecloth after customers had finished dining, and set table by replacing with clean chinaware and tablecloth
- Takes over duties of the cashier and hostess when necessary
- Answers phone calls during rest time from 3pm to 5pm
- Performs all other tasks delegated by Restaurant Manager
To ensure and create a positive experience, you will need to be able to converse in both simple English and Mandarin as you will be required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers.
