Our team in Singapore is on the hunt for a Windows Engineer to join our client's team.
Position purpose
This role is for a technical support position and they will be responsible for overseeing the project initiated by APAC Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team. They must ensure that the project deliverables are delivered on time and aligned to agreed SLAs and processes.
They will help ensure the quality of IaaS services remains consistently high, that operating policies are developed or are strictly followed, and adhere to all IT security policies to maintain system integrity and quality.
The candidate must have excellent technical knowledge matched by a can do hands-on attitude, have an eye for details, possess an inquisitive mind to question, analyze and improve existing ways of working, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and always work to maximize IT Security and minimize IT Operational Risk.
The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic IT team and will work with other IT teams in Asia, Europe and Americas, so must possess strong organization skills, have great time management, be organized and methodical in their scope of work.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Management
- Responsible for the overall BAU support operations of IaaS systems in APAC (infrastructure in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan) and regional oversight of the rest of APAC countries.
- Must have skills in:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016 & 2019
- Microsoft Active Directory
- ITIL 3 or 4 Foundation
- PowerShell scripting
Business relationships
- Work closely with all major business stakeholders, and any team(s) with direct influence and dependencies.
- Must know how to build strong working relationships with our customers and partners.
- Have proven experience working collaboratively with all teams across all departments and with the attitude to work openly, share information, and keep people regularly informed and avoiding working in silo mode.
Governance
- Follow all CIB and Security policies
- Contribute to management reports and dashboards
- Report all variances from Norms and Standards
- Ensure and practice all production Disaster Recovery and BCP processes are in place
- Be risk adverse in change management, Incident management and daily operations.
Requirements
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- At least 3+ years of technical experience with the majority spent in a Bank or Financial Institute.
- Must have experience working on virtual technology platform VMware websphere 6.x or Microsoft HyperV 2019.
- Must know how to manage Active Directory for the authentication and privilege account management.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Eg. Able to break down complex technical situations and communicate with non-technical managers and very technical Level 3 senior system administrators.
- Candidate must be competent on how to manage the OS on physical servers and virtual servers.
- Preferable if the candidate has knowledge and skills working with Low Latency or Electronic Trading Network
- Strong knowledge on governance, server administration and services in cloud based environments. In short, able to follow the bank's standards, processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in handling and/or contribution to complex IT projects.
- Be willing to do shift work and some weekends. Also be on call or attend incident calls outside office hours at short notice.
- Able to plan, test and execute Production changes successfully following a robust Change Management process.
Other Value-Added Competencies
- Knowledge and experience with Ansible Tower, Ivanti, Centrify, Veritas and BMC software.
- Knowledge using or supporting VSAN, iSCSI, DAS, NAS, SAN storage technologies.
- Have good scripting skills, in PowerShell, Python or other programming languages.
- Have knowledge and experience using Agile methodologies and/or has been part of DevOps teams.
- Project Management experience is a bonus
