Position Overview: Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications will work across departments to drive public awareness of the Special Olympics movement across the Asia Pacific region through the execution of marketing and communications initiatives. He/she will also help country offices (Programs) build their marketing and communications capabilities through professional training and the development of resources and best practice guidelines.

on the lives of people with intellectual disabilities & the community in which they live leading to broader awareness and understanding of our work by the general public.
Working with SOAP operations staff to demonstrate the added value that they bring to our programs through our activities establishing SOAP as a global hub for development of Special Olympics activities supporting not only capacity building but innovation and research for SOAP.
All of this work will be brought together by the post holder alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications in the establishment of a brand ecosystem that aims to speak to all SOAP stakeholders with a uniform identity/brand offering.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and produce bi-monthly SOAP regional e-newsletters and EDMs that inform different stakeholders on the work of the organization
Ensure quality communication that is factual, logical and well-written
Develop and produce the Annual Report for SOAP that highlights the work and impact of the organization for the year.
Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to maintain and grow SOAPs social media and digital platforms through the development of compelling content and digital marketing efforts.
Support the Director of Marketing and Communications in publicity campaigns that will drive awareness of the movement for the purpose of advocacy and/or fundraising.
Develop media relations in Singapore and regionally with local and regional media stakeholders, as well as potential ambassadors/influencers.
Work with HQ in Washington to drive awareness of the movement worldwide, leveraging on global media opportunities, whenever opportunities arise.
Support the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop communications training, and share practices to build the capacity of National Programs.
Support communications collaterals for fundraising and advocacy purposes whenever necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally, a degree in journalism/communications/marketing or related field.
At least 6-8 years experience and proven skills in communications, digital marketing, content creation for social media, journalism, and/or publicity related field.
Excellent and proven written and oral communications skills / Proficiency in speaking & writing in English.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and a keen eye for details.
Great people skills, with the ability to manage the needs of multiple stakeholders from all over the world.
Willingness and ability to work and travel overseas, at times work long hours & on weekends.
Quality conscious and a proactive style of working.
Possess an independent, enterprising spirit, with the ability to work with minimal resources.
