About Singapore Canoe Federation:
The Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF) was founded in 1971 and is the National Sports Association responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of paddling in Singapore. It represents the interest of its athletes and members to Sport Singapore (Previously known as the Singapore Sports Council), the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), and other international paddling bodies.
The SCF is an affiliate of both the Asian Canoe Confederation and the International Canoe Federation. As a non-profit organisation, the SCF relies mainly on its team of staff and volunteers. It is mainly funded by Sport Singapore.
Our Aims:
To promote opportunity for public participation in a full range of paddling activities in Singapore with high standards of safety. The key aspirations of the SCF are:
. Nurture and prepare its elite and potential elite athletes to medal at the SEA Games, Asian Games, Olympic Games and other regional/international competitions.
. Uphold high standards of sportsmanship.
. Champion the development and enjoyment by the public of all paddling disciplines in Singapore.
. Develop and promote Singapore as a venue of choice for regional/international paddling championships/events.

Role description:
The Marketing, Branding & Business Development Manager sets the marketing, sponsorship and business development direction of SCF. Together with the Events and Programme Manager, he/she creates a concerted plan to drive a vibrant calendar of events sanctioned by SCF.
He/she is accountable for conceptualising SCF branding and business development plans, sponsorship management and digital communications strategies.
He/she is responsible for managing the department budget and developing the department policies and governance matters.
The Marketing, Branding & Business Development Manager reports to the General Manager (GM).
Responsibilities:
The role will cover four key areas of the organisation:
1.Branding and Business Development
1.1. Accountable for conceptualising, developing and executing SCF's branding strategies to enhance the SCF's image and profile.
1.2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to support SCF's growth and sustainability.
1.3. Collaborate with other departments to create and implement promotional campaigns that align with SCF's mission and goals.
1.4. Conduct market research to understand trends and opportunities for brand development.
1.5. Create leads to increase current revenue channels and explore business opportunities to generate income through courses, programmes and grants.
2.Sponsorship Management
2.1. Accountable for identifying and securing potential sponsors and partners.
2.2. Develop and manage sponsorship proposals and agreements, ensuring deliverables are met and relationships are maintained.
2.3. Oversee the execution of sponsorship agreements and track the performance and impact of sponsorships.
2.4. Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors and partners to ensure continued support and collaboration.
2.5. Develop SCF's fundraising efforts.
3.Communication Strategies
3.1. Accountable for creating and implementing communication strategies, including social media, email marketing, and website management, to engage with the community and promote SCF events and initiatives.
3.2. Develop engaging content for digital platforms, including social media posts, newsletters, and website updates.
3.3. Analyse digital communication metrics and adjust strategies to optimise effort.
3.4. Stay updated with digital marketing trends and technologies to ensure SCF's communication strategies are innovative and effective.
3.5. Handle all public relations efforts and media interest, strengthen and build the awareness of the sport and SCF, and to ensure the communication is consistent, accurate and prompt with all stakeholders.
4.Budget and Policy Management and Governance
4.1. Responsible for preparing and managing the marketing and business development budget, ensuring alignment with SCF's overall budget.
4.2. Monitor expenditures and ensure all marketing and sponsorship activities adhere to budgetary guidelines.
4.3. Develop and enforce policies related to marketing, branding, and sponsorship activities to ensure consistency and compliance with SCF's governance standards.
4.4. Provide regular reports and updates on budget performance and policy adherence to the General Manager.
5. People Management
5.1. Accountable and responsible for the overall talent management of the Marketing team. This includes the development and retention of the team members, to ensure organisational vision and targets are met, and values lived.
6.Other Responsibilities
6.1. To attend SCF Board meetings (if required) and all marketing-related meetings.
6.2. To submit reports on progress made in the specified areas of responsibility.
6.3. To submit all other reports and statistics as and when required.
6.4. To undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the SCF.
7. Qualifications/Technical Requirements/Experience:
7.1. Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Marketing (or related discipline), excellent verbal and written skill.
7.2. 3 - 5 years related experience, preferably in a management position in marketing, business development or fundraising/sponsorship.
7.3. Experience in having execute a branding/re-branding campaign
7.4. Excellent planning, organisational and budgetary skills and the ability to prioritise appropriately to meet deadlines.
